Hey Hugo thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. You are correct, it is a custom theme and I am almost 100% certain the custom theme is having a conflict with BuddyPress. The site is a live site so I would rather not switch the theme, but I am sure switching to twentytwelve would solve the problem.

I was able to set up Buddypress just fine. The problem is, on my Buddypress specific pages (sign up form, members page etc. etc.) the content is displayed twice. For example, on the sign up page, there are two sign up forms and on the members page there are two members lists. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
