I like the default buddypress theme but find the search box in the header very redundant.
I want to remove that search box completely from the header. (and may be place it in the sidebar, like an widget.)

just make buddypress work as any other plugins… irrespective of the theme.

I am trying to install WordPressMU and Buddypress in localserver by XAMPP. I am using Ubuntu 9.10.
Can someone help me out? Is there a good tutorial on how to install XAMPP on ubuntu and then run wpmu and buddypress in it?
can i try subdomain blog (username.domainname.com) instead of subfolder in XAMPP? How to do that?
