| WordPress Origin Story | My journey with WordPress started back in 2008, during the early days of my web development career. I was working on a project for a small business that needed a website they could manage themselves. At the time, most CMS platforms were either too complex or too limited. That’s when I stumbled upon WordPress, which was gaining traction as an open-source, user-friendly CMS. I was immediately drawn to its simplicity, flexibility, and the power it gave users to take control of their websites. My first project involved customizing a free WordPress theme to fit the client’s branding. It wasn’t perfect, but seeing the client’s excitement about managing their own content without technical knowledge made me realize the potential of WordPress. From there, I dove deeper, learning theme development, plugin creation, and how to use WordPress to solve real-world challenges. Over time, what started as a tool for simple websites evolved into a platform I could use to build complex, dynamic web applications. The supportive WordPress community played a huge role in my growth, providing resources, inspiration, and a sense of belonging. Fifteen years later, I’m still as passionate about WordPress as I was on day one.
