BP Links is an old, unsupported plugin. The error message is saying “hey, this bit that BuddyPress provides is missing (since you deactivated BuddyPress), and so we can’t load it, so here’s an error”.

I think it only appears on the Activity screens, where there is a form to post an update. Even then, it might not work on all themes. It should work with BP-Default.

It means if you have some PHP knowledge, you could add parsing of shortcodes to the group description, amongst other things.

In BP 1.6, we’re adding a screen to wp-admin to allow easy access for admins to manage the content.

It could be that the emails are being marked as spam, or are being throttled by your server when you try to email them.

Why not? It fixes a server configuration problem in many cases, which is probably what your problem is.

For site wide forums, it’s admin menu is in wp-admin as “Forums” item. If you can’t see it, go to your plugins and make sure you have bbPress 2.x activated.

The old site was far worse. You don’t want to switch back (and you can’t).

There’s an API. If you’re a developer, I can point you to some documentation. Otherwise, you’ll need a developer.

Well, yes and no. Yes I’d know how to do it, but if you’re not a developer, it’s not really possible. I’m not aware of any plugins that do this.

What versions of bbPress and BuddyPress are you using?

I put the customisable slug in, if e.g. you changed the name of the achievement after creating it, and wanted to tweak the URL to match. Or, perhaps the title is too long for a good URL, and you want the URL to be shorter.

Blog post comments should support display of/reply to nested comments.
