Oh: are you running on multisite?

I don’t have any ideas right now, especially if no errors in your web server’s log… have you tried re-downloading BuddyPress 1.5 and upgrading, in case there was some sort of error in the version you’ve been trying with?

No, it’s in the third-party on purpose. It’d be too much work and a lot of overhead to start switching pronouns around depending on who is readings something.

BuddyPress must be wp-content/plugins/buddypress. Rename the folder (the error’s because WordPress is trying to load two copies of BuddyPress!).

Investigating..

Do the mappings show if you go the BuddyPress > Pages in the wp-admin?

Surely you could just add the user accounts into WordPress as usual (via wp-admin, if you want)? When those people log in to the site, they’ll then have the option of completing their BuddyPress profile.

There are rudimentary capability checks in teh current version. If you’re familiar with something like Role Scoper, i’ll dig up what the names are and let you know so you can try it.
