Hi. Well done for being the first person to spot this!

There are instructions in the readme.txt which, for some reason, is not appearing on WordPress.org yet. I’m hoping it’ll appear in a few hours. For now, read the readme.txt file and look at the screenshots in the plugin directory.

Go to /wp-admin/, into the BuddyPress -> Components menu, and disable the “Discussion Forums” component.

There are no known security issues with BuddyPress 1.2.x, or BuddyPress 1.3. Promoting scare web pages help no-one.

500 is a server-side error. It may be PHP memory-related, it might not be. You need to look in to your web sever’s error logs, or ask your host to do that for you.

I can’t see how it could be a caching issue. Are you on multisite or regular WordPress, and do you mind sharing what’s in your .htaccess file?
