Can you share the SQL statement you found wasn’t compatible with the newer MySQL, or link to a resource? We ought to send a patch to bbPress for this. Let me know, thanks.

Delete your custom .htaccess and use the default (go into wp-admin permalinks, change it to another setting, then save, then change it back to what you want the permalinks to be. This should regenerated htaccess).

WP_User_Search was deprecated in 3.1 and replaced with the WP_User_Query class, but it looks like it should still be loading okay. Odd.

The URLs look a bit different because this site is running a development version of BuddyPress, where we have added such a feature. Everything else you see is just the site’s theme

Those plugins need to be updated for changes for WordPress 3.1. Contact the developers.

BuddyPress uses WordPress’ email routines. There is no special handling. You are probably running into issues with your host throttling the increased number of emails that BP sends. I’d suggest you contact your host and ask them.

It sounds as if you are running two separate WordPress installs. If you are, get rid of one of them and use multisite. There are ways to share the users table between installs (like on here), but I would suggest multisite is easier to achieve.

If you’re using BP-Default, you’ll have to edit your theme’s header.php and take out the links, etc. In the next version of BuddyPress (1.3), you’ll be able to create the menus like this easily.
