Nice idea. This is one of those ideas I might implement when I figure out how to adapt the UI on the create/edit Achievement screen for it. I’m hoping to spend time on that soon, so I will keep this type of thing in mind and report back when I can.

A per- achievement timer would be alright, but a per-achievement per- unlock wouldn’t. I think there may be some ways around this, but I’m finding it hard to envisage this as a feature that most users would use. This wouldn’t scale. It’d need to a timer / cron event for each unlock of each achievement. The more unlocks or the more users, the harder it would hit the server.

Ok, so you’d want an achievement unrewarded after X time. Will consider implications of this.

Would you want those achievements to be merely deactivated, or deleted from the system? concerned about automatic deletion as someone may have changed their mind after setting the expiry.

No worries, glad you got it solved. Going forwards you only need to worry if I modify the template files that you’ve used. I’ll be sure to note in the patch changelog if I do that, so read the readme.txt before you upgrade 🙂

That’s the secret sauce!
Copy /plugins/achievements/includes/templates/members/single/achievements.php into your theme — for example, to /themes/my_theme/members/single/achievements.php.

Text bold because it appears this site doesn’t have the fix applied to it which closed HTML tags in forum messages. Doh.

BuddyPress shouldn’t cause these problems. I would suggest you check/repair the database tables, as that seems a more likely cause of these problems. I imagine that if you disable BuddyPress, you’ll still have these problems. If, however, disabling BuddyPress fixes everything, delete all of your BuddyPress files and re-upload.
