@hnla Following on from what you said earlier, I’m checking all theme files in branch and trunk just in case trunk has missed any changes.

Not all the files need them. Quite often the notices are in the components’ -header.php files.

Just added a full width page template to trunk: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/3428/. Also, I don’t believe we need to worry about author.php as we are redirecting the links which would go to those author pages to the member’s BP profile.

The mysql_get_server_info() error is a really, really low-level error. If it only happens intermittently, it’s likely to be your server or your host unable to deal with connection requests (or is throttling them). Best to ask your host first.

Or, yes, you can just change their permission from subscriber to an author so that they can post in the backend.

It needs the file system’s absolute directory path, which you’ve already tried. Hmm. Assuming that the location and file actually exists, are they accessible by the web server? i.e. file or directory permissions.

I’ve updated at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-default-theme-changelog/ and we don’t expect there to be any more changes to the theme for this release.

We’re going to fix this selectbox serialisation thing in BP 1.2.7, which we’re a bit behind schedule with. Hopefully it’ll be released in the next couple of days.
