Trunk (1.3-bleeding) is many months out of date; I’d strongly recommend you switch to the 1.2 branch, trunk is not recommended right now.

bp_group_creation_tabs() is called directly in the bp-default theme; /groups/create.php. Override that file in your theme and change the function call.

I plan to patch 1.3 (once the current development trunk has been updated to match the current stable 1.2 release) to add user role checks.

The jquery snippet looks to be conflicting with some aspect of Buddypress’ on your site

Per my comment on that guy’s blog, it’s not been built as a child theme, which is mad.

Normally this problem is a result of a plugin including AJAX or other JavaScript which breaks group creation.

That’s not an awesome hack, it’d be better for us to understand the root problem.

Have you enabled permalinks on your blog? Is your server Windows or Linux?

The user account on this site ties into the Automattic database for WordPress.org. I’ve, to be honest, no idea how you go about removing an account from there. Quick google reveals http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ which says it’s not possible on wordpress.com, so it might be similar.

Have a look in your header.php for the ‘title’ tags. Check it looks like: http://buddypress.pastebin.com/ZN8WwEhK

It works for me. I hate to be boring, but it’s probably a plugin conflict. Try disabling them all, then posting more activity-update from within a Group (make it a Public group for testing), and see if it resolves the problem.

No, that’s about as specific (and mysterious) as you’re going to get. If you aren’t using the BP-Default theme (unedited), switch back to it. Does the problem go away?

If it does, have a look at your actual theme’s functions.php, or post a link to it from pastebin.com

I can do you action and filter names, but not template tags. However, look in the /-templatetags.php files – they’re all the template tags for each component.
