In the upcoming Welcome Pack 2.2 release, you’ll be able to put this sort of thing into the Start Page;

http://example.com/members/USERNAME/profile/

USERNAME will get automagically replaced with the new person’s username (see the “Help” tab in the top-right for more such things).

FYI I have changed jq to jQuery() in the next release onwards of Welcome Pack to improve compatibility with a wider range of themes. Thank you all for feedback.

Welcome Pack doesn’t touch that email; it only does some of the core BuddyPress emails in the current version. Erich’s asking about a WordPress email.

The email section controls only BuddyPress emails; Welcome Pack doesn’t send out any directly by itself.
This sort of text replacement/customisation will be available in a future version of Welcome Pack when BuddyPress 1.3 is out (I have some code in 1.3 that I need to do this properly).

Oh, hold on. This is a BuddyPress bug, not Welcome Pack. Exactly the same thing should happen if you send a regular group invite to a user.

If you want the redirect to happen after only the new user’s first log in, use the Start Page feature of Welcome Pack.

Your left-opening quote marks are curly quotes, not straight quotes (copy-paste from the closing quote marks). However, if that’s just a forum glitch, try generating a different salt.

What’s the contents of your wp_options ‘welcomepack’ record look like? Those should be stored as empty arrays on a new install to avoid this. Also have you found this on WP or WPMS? Thanks
