1.2.4.1 should work fine with WP 3.0. BP 1.3 will *require* WP 3.0 and some of the internals will be changing for compatibilty with WP 3.0.

I’m not a core developer, but I do try my hardest to annoy the three that are. Thank you regardless 🙂

Are these emails scripted, or are they more like digests of recent activity?

Hi Lynn. Have you seen http://testbp.org/? That’s an out-of-the-box BuddyPress install, and you can register/log-in and test everything. That will give you a good idea as to what BuddyPress is capable of, and will let you assess if there’s any work you’d need to do (i.e. custom theme or plugin). Once you have some specifics questions, post on the…[Read more]

What do you mean exactly by some items? Skip over certain blogs, or blogs belonging to certain users?

It’s not a bug. I can’t see any code in the core to control this, so it’d be custom.

You shouldn’t have any. I’d recommended backing everything up, switching back to the default WordPress theme and disabling all plugins (including BuddyPress). Then when you have WP 3.0 up and working, re-enable everything one-by-one.

Most of the early BuddyPress plugins were WPMU specific as that’s what BuddyPress ran on, and whilst a lot will work with regular WordPress, it looks like you have one that doesn’t.

There’s no database changes (to the schema) so you ought to be able to upload the old version of BuddyPress and away you go.
Everyone learns about making backups when they don’t make backups and this sort of thing happens 😉

This is true, but a symlink would still get deleted. I know improving this is on the cards, maybe for 1.3. I’ve no magic solution for you at the moment 🙁

Certainly that’s the plan, though the above box is controls as to what action is required to award the achievement.
Setting an action to happen *after* the achievement has been awarded will almost certainly require per-plugin support; it’s something I want to do and I need to think about the best way.

The next version of Welcome Pack I intend to release, barring any bug fix releases in the interim, will be for BuddyPress 1.3. It will build on and enhance the customise email options as the current implementation is pretty basic (this is dependant on code which will be in the BuddyPress 1.3 release).

Sorry for the late reply — I didn’t see your message — but you can find old versions from https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/welcome-pack/download/.
You’ll have to dig through the changelog and see what works with 1.0.3.Incidentally, I would strongly urge you to immediately upgrade from BP 1.0.3, for security reasons.

Hi I’ve not tested it recently on any of the facebook connect plugins, but I know the very early version of the facebook login plugins (might have been fb-autoconnect, can’t remember) were, frankly, not very well coded and didn’t call all of the usual hooks that a plugin dealing with user registration should. This was […]

Disable BuddyPress. Do you get any emails from WordPress on itself? e.g. user registration, comment notification, etc.

Try increasing to 64Mb. If this doesn’t seem to make any affect, ask your host to do it for you.
