Group member count is stored in the wp_bp_groups_groupmeta table, if you “cleared out” your group in the database directly then of course this variable won’t update.
If, however, you’ve kicked people out the group and it hasn’t updated, then it’s a bug.

Try looking at the HTML source of that page and see what’s going on. If you don’t understand HTML, paste it all into a text file and email it to me and I’ll see if there’s any clues

@r-a-y I hadn’t, yet, but there are filters on that name in bp-core-templatetags.php, which is where I copied it from. Using that filter does match what BP does for its templatetag loop. Seriously however, I bet you’re using @r-a-y‘s user names only plugin? I have heard it causes this problem.

Try reuploading all of the BuddyPress files. Then disable all plugins, THEN activate BuddyPress.

Activity stream doesn’t have anything to do with WordPress post_types, which is why you find no documentation.
Look through, for example, groups_record_activity().

Just to let you know that Achievements isn’t dead. Whilst there has been no update since BuddyPress 1.1.3, I am actively working on a new version for BuddyPress 1.2.4/1.3. I’m not sure on timescales just yet, but keep an eye on my blog at http://byotos.com/ for updates on progress and sneak-peak screenshots.

Ben, no, BP should work with WP/MU (MU is now “WP+MS”, for multisites).

Switch back to the twentyten theme. Disable BuddyPress. Can you log in as a non-admin user?

@russnm – the avatar problem has been reported (#2400) and @r-a-y‘s contributed a solution. There may be several avatar problems.

Please someone report any other issues, including this blog list one, to https://trac.buddypress.org/. I’m wondering if something added for WP 3.0 has broken WP 2.9.x installs.
