I’ve moved sites from domain to domain before, but not IP to domain.

If you export your MySQL database, open it in a text editor, do you find any references to the IP still? Those need updating too.

Look at https://svn.buddypress.org/tags/1.2.3/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js, which is global.js for 1.2.3. It declares it as jq.

      No. BuddiPhone doesn’t have a reply box on the activity stream. I’ve moved it all to the permalink page. Basically you see a list of activity and you click on activity to go its permalink page and on this page is were you manage this content, either favoriting it or deleting it or replying to it.

WordPress loads the database from the setting in your Wp-config.php file. Once your new server or db is setup, just import a copy of your current db into it and update that config file.

It will be interesting to see if plugin discussion will end up in that plugin’s forum. I think it will but that raises the question that should the forum moderators move any threads in the wrong place? I think we should.

Once, of course, someone creates that functionality 😉

Comments and replies on the activity stream are just that – on the activity stream. They don’t feed back into the forum.

Svn trunk isn’t guaranteed to be fully working or stable. I’d suggest switching to the 1.2 branch if you want something newer than 1.2.3.

Code highlighting isn’t working on this site at the moment, so this might appear messy, but put forums-loop.php in your child theme and change like so:

if ( bp_has_forum_topics( bp_ajax_querystring( 'forums' ) . '&no_stickies=&per_page=30' ) )

I think that ought to work.
