If it works in BP-Default, it’s a problem with your theme. You need to talk to the author of your theme and ask them for a fix.

Switch to the twentyeleven theme. Disable BuddyPress.

It might be a bbPress bug. You should start a discussion on the bbPress forums at bbpress.org, as the bbPress plugin handles all the integration with BuddyPress (rather than the other way around).

Sven, as you know, that’s really tricky to track down unless we have instructions to recreate. If you can recreate it, you could put in some logging to see what the variables are.
