Hello lbeetles,
Do you have a members widget in the same Members page? And do the search results appear in that widget? If so, remove that widget from the page. If that doesn’t solve the problem, I might need to debug the issue on your test site. -

You have to rename the plugin folder, see the note in the readme file. I think I have found a workaround to this problem, and I’ll release it in the next plugin version.

Hi Marcy,
Unfortunately that’s the “rename directory” bug again! Please rename the plugin folder as suggested in the readme file.
I hope you’ll like this plugin version, when you’ll be able to see the admin page! -

BP Profile Search 2.2 introduces the Age Range Search feature.
If you have a birth date field in your extended profiles, you can now search by age range. Your visitors can specify a minimum and maximum age for their search, and they’ll get back the list of members whose age falls between the specified limits.
Of course this feature could be u…[Read more]

BP Profile Search 2.1 fixes a nasty bug, where in some installations no results were found. Thanks to Elliott who allowed me to debug the issue on his site!
Additionally I’ve added an option to hide/show the search form, as requested by many users. Thanks to Marcy, CEO of Polymathic Media, who provided this useful patch!
I also wish to thank you…[Read more]

Hi Rossagrant,
I’ve recently received a patch that hides/shows the search form with jQuery, so I’m about to release it. I just need a few days to integrate and test it. Thank you for your feedback!

A new version of BP Profile Search is ready.
Version 2.0 brings you the following enhancements:
1) Support for multiselectbox and checkbox field types.
Users can select one or more values to search for, and the results are the ones matching any of the values selected.
E.g. if there is a checkbox type field named Preferred Colors with possible…[Read more]

After I install, when I click on the “Profile Search” menu item in my BuddyPress menu, I get “404 page not found” for wp-admin/search-settings.

Hi Jonathan,
thank you for your kind words. Here are my answers to your questions.
1) That’s feasible but not simple, the next point is much simpler.
2) If you know how to show/hide a div with JavaScript, you can just code such a div in your page, and put the search form call inside it.
Since many readers don’t like to code themselves, I plan…[Read more]

Hello Svante,
currently the plugin works by filtering the member list function and, to avoid filtering every member list on the page, it operates only once per page.
So I think you could edit your theme and move the sidebar div *after* the content div, so the members directory will be filtered and the widget will be left alone. Alternately you…[Read more]

If you can’t access the plugin admin page, try renaming your plugin folder name from bp-profile-search to profile-search and reactivating the plugin.
It works, but I don’t know why… -

Not really soon, I’m now busy with other projects and I’ll need to find some free time to go on with the updates. Thank you for your patience!

Currently BP Profile Search works by filtering the member directory entries, and it has to stay on the members page in order to be effective. Alternately you could display the member directory on the home page, and it will be filtered by the plugin search form results.

Hi Marcy,
apparently you forgot to add the search form call in your theme file ‘members/index.php’ (see the installation instructions).
I just added it, and the search form looks fine now.
Congratulations on your new site!

So, I made the mistake of saying it was great by seeing it only in theory… I swear I had it working before, my brain is fried from too much work, but I can’t get the plugin to work on 3.0.1 and 1.2.5 installs, neither of them. and they have totally different themes and plugins, and still doesn’t work with them all deactivated. essentially, you…[Read more]

Hi,
I don’t have any other members widgets on that page, it is just the members page when you install buddypress.
What would you need to debug?
Hi a quick thing i found was it doesn’t work on the theme BP Columns 1.2 but works fine when i change the theme to the BuddyPress Default 1.2.7 theme.
