BTW, I just did a wp/bp install on my home mac system. No trouble at all.

pretty permalinks work fine and I have enabled other than the default. The link you passed on suggests: Notes: 1. I’ve done this a dozen times now and cannot determine why BP links do not work. Please help. The WP install went fine. v3.1.3. Install BP on top of that v1.2.8, all goes fine.
