There seems to be a plugin for that. https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-group-hierarchy/
But it would be nicer if it be a core feature since it seems to be a fundamental feature.

This is a great plugin. 🙂
When adding a youtube link using the wysiwyg editor I am only getting only the link shown. Also, it would be great if we could add images somehow or is it already possible and I didn’t see it? ^^

  oEmbed seems to have stopped working at some point without me realising it. I’ll get this fixed in the next release.
  
  Image upload isn’t supported yet as it would require a lot of work to implement.

There is also this commercial (€59,50) plugin buddyvents. But the testsite (http://test.shabushabu.eu/events/) shows up a lot of warnings which makes me think that the software is not stable (screenshot: http://i52.tinypic.com/5ydv0g.png). @modemlooper When using the mobile theme combined with the citizen kane theme (with custom front page), the smartphone doesn’t show it right. I have tried your tutorial (http://goo.gl/yJu4J) with the result that it worked on the smartphone but then on the contrary it showed the invaild page when browsing from a regular computer.

What could be the problem?

Blog comments not showing within the activity stream might be a bug referring to blocking search engines.
But have you noticed that there is a huge gap when replying to an activity? See screesnhot: http://i56.tinypic.com/2iayj6d.png
