so does this mean I need to completely start translating the full .po-file from scratch again ?

So for example, if you are adding just one new language-string into BP-Core, how to add that new string into my already existing customized .po file ?

I just deleted the line you have mentioned from my register.php file and it worked like a charm.

    Thanks again !

not sure what the coders (I am definitely not talking about the BP-Core-Developers, but rather the “Coding-Community”) are waiting for ?
The Core-Developers did a great job and are a bit exhausted for the moment, which is very understandable and acceptable.

Now is the time for the Coding-Community to move ahead and a matter of TEAM-building into small teams who take on features they want to improve or develop.

here is the feedback directly received from PollDaddy.com / Automattic:

BuddyPress should be able to use the Polldaddy WordPress plugin ( https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/polldaddy/ ) but its not officially supported.

    great initiative, Jeff.

I myself have reported about 293 defects, enhancements and suggestions into the TRAC-reporting-system during the last year and a lot has been fixed and changed so far.

So where are all the intelligent coders who are capable of moving BuddyPress to the next level ?

Only by improving the core-code of BuddyPress, all of you coders, freelancers and designers will make money in the long-term.
Do not take the short-term-view, step out of your tunnel-vision and take the long-term-approach !

Well, I guess you remember what the short-term-view did to e.g. the financial industry ?

I mean: do you use Forums at your website ?

I have forums deactivated, but get this strange error message when trying to change the text of the Group-description.
Hard to understand what is going on under the hood of BP…..

the software POEDIT has a search-capability build-in. Just search for the word “Group” in that file.
There are actually not that many strings containing the word “Group”, maybe 10 or 20 lines which contain that word.

    check your language-files at
    ……/plugins / buddypress / bp-languages

There should be a .pot file which you open with a software named “POEDIT”. Just Google for this software and download it for free.
Then change the wording to whatever you want.
Then you save the customized file with two different format-extensions (.po and .mo) and upload both of those files to your server (into the same folder where the .pot file is).

    Hi Ray,

I have upgraded to version 0.57 but I still see the issue showing the name “admin” instead of the name of the user.
I do NOT have the “BP Follower Plugin installed”.

I see this issue when not being logged-in.
When being logged-in, then this issue is not there.

    Using WP 3.0 (Multi-Site) and BP 1.2.4.1

    @tsui
is a unique identifier for admin that you can type into any message on this site. admin will be sent a notification and a link to your message any time you use it.

    Hi Ray,

is there a chance you update your Plugin to the next version-number, so that there will be a notification in the Dashboard in order to update the Plugin.
That would be the easiest way for a user like myself to update that Plugin.

Currently I do see version 0.56

    Hi Peter,

I totally agree with you !
The bbPress should be skipped and we need more User-Management and Privacy build into BP.

Would be great if you could write your ideas and suggestions into this thread:
