    found the issue by accident… Had used the $current-User variable in the header.php before. Why I couldn’t overwrite that and just reuse it is a riddle to me. But that broke the group loop (eventhough the correct ID was returned… oh well)

    Seemed to have been an internal Problem. There was a Rewrite issue on the server, that strangely only affected the groups, but not the emails.
    Solved.

    it still says “The requested URL /groups/create/ was not found on this server.”

    Because I don’t know which files are called at which time, I also don’t know where to look in case any links or file paths are broken…

    different problem, but was told to post here:

    When I try to create a group, I get to an error page (unlike you, I see the button). I figured there might be a problem with the link (It links to /groups/create).
    I though it might be a problem with my permalinks, so I tried to update them, but nothing happens. Also, creation of new emails, for example, work without problems.
    I installed the plugin as usual through the wordpress plugin directory. I’m running buddyPress 2.9.0 and Worpress 4.8.1
