@rogercoathup – I see this is something you have done before – any ideas?

Sounds like you have switched something in ‘theme options’. In theme options under ‘blog hompeage settings’ there is an option ‘Do you want to enable privacy for all members profile’. Make sure this is set to disable.

I have the latest version of buddypress and I had to delete the register.php from bbpress, as is suggested above. This reduced my spam signups from around ten a day to none.

Buddypress search function only seems to look at actual names. Is there a way to enable searching by username?

@jonnylons I had a similar goal to you. I ended up instead creating a highly customised, edited backend. Whether you are interested in doing this completely or maybe just checking out some of the things I learnt, you may want to check out my guide to the matter…[Read more]

Is it something to do with do_action( ‘register_post’) ?

I added define( ‘BP_REGISTER_SLUG’, ‘xxxx’ ); to change my registration address as I was having problem with spammers. This has worked beautifuly, except for one link – the ‘register’ one on the login page (next to ‘Lost your password’). I presume I have to change this on wp-login somewhere, but I’m a bit lost as […]

The ms field update Paul talks about is found here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/recover-super-admin-access-after-username-change I have now changed my username but I have no idea how I was hacked. I was already using login lockdown. And, through ‘login log’ I can see failed login attempts, of which there were none. So it wasn’t a brute…[Read more]

Ok – I have changed my name and I seemed to have lost access to large areas of the backend, such as plugins, super admin etc. Where might I have gone wrong?

Just logged into my site and ‘last logins’ showed that admin logged in 4 hours ago from IP 202.56.7.114, which seems to be registered to Bangladesh. I’m pretty worried about what they have done. Looking around I can’t see anything. Is there anything I should be looking out for? How can I make sure they […]

Matt started the forum topic Groupblog – where next? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 3 months ago
The groupblog is a really useful plugin – in fact I think it could even be the making/breaking of my site. However, like many, I am struggling to get it working with the latest versions of wordpress and buddypress. Unfortunately, Marius (the author) has been inactive for a few weeks and there has been no […]

@mrjarbenne Hi there, I was wondering if you could give me a quick word of advice. I have been doing some research on group blogs and limiting blogs per user and see that you were looking into exactly the same thing a few months back. Did you ever have any success? Did you use mariusooms and Brajesh Singh’s plugins?
Anyway, I would really…[Read more]

I’ve edited it to read:
jq(‘body#bp-default table.zebra tbody tr’).mouseover( function() {
jq(this).addClass(‘over’);
}).mouseout( function() {
jq(this).removeClass(‘over’);
});jq(‘body#bp-default table.zebra tbody tr:odd, ul#topic-post-list > l…[Read more]

Ok thanks. I can only think that must be it because I have tried everything else. Unfortunately I have no idea when it comes to jquery though. So is my best option to wait for an update on this? Or is there something more pro-active I can do?

But is it not still .alt css that should alternately highlight that? Like the ul#topic-post-list li.alt command in this forum?
