I think there should also be more info about this issue in the Requirements section of buddypress.org – I read them, and assumed that shared hosting would be ok, as there was no warning.

I couldn’t get this to work either….but it’s a potentially very useful addition to the nav bar. The current navigation to your own profile isn’t very intuitive.

No banned domains. But Add New Users is disabled (I’m assuming its the default) – so I’ll change that.
