I just installed and changed the config file still the panel doesn’t work. It doesn’t disable BP menu and not showing sliding panel. Any fix?

How can I change the buddypress from homepage to just an application in the website? Right now, if you install buddypress it comes up as home page theme but I want to show it as another app and not the home page. I couldn’t see any option. DO I have to change anything in themes,
