Jenny posted on the forum topic Multisite URLs UNDER Buddypress Scheme? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 2 months ago
Firstly, to put profilt to root directory : define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES’, true ); This will get the the url of http://mydomain.com/username Secondly, multisite issue. Go to Dashboard/Super Admin/Sites/Edit/Permalink Structure there you’ll see the annoying “blog/” structure. edit it. That’s all. Thirdly, the problem– What if somebody in your…[Read more]

Jenny started the forum topic “activate” or “network activate” for other new plugins? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 3 months ago
When I install new BP-compatible plugins, I want to have full control of the plug in in root blog but allow other blog’s to have the end results.
Should I click “activate” or “network activate” for the new plugins? -
Jenny started the forum topic What do I have to loss if delete a sub-blog? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 3 months ago
I’m curious– all members from different blogs within one network have their profile in root blog, but maybe they have some stuffs in sub-blog which are not connected to root, I don’t know, I just guess maybe sub-blog enabled some features that root doesn’t have. So, once delete a sub-blog, am I at risk of […]

@sushkov, I just created a github, username imjjss, I don’t know how to create a group there, I tried “Watch”, “Fork”, seems not the path. The only way to make an entry is to Create an Issue, but this is not an issue, it’s a feature. I will start a topic there when I figure out how to start it.

A very well designed and yet powerful tool for online educational usage. It makes setting an online school as simple as activate the plugin. Amazing— how the developer know I need exactly such a thingy!

@Stas Suscov, thanks for the great tool. May I suggest a feature?– about the Courseware Profile. It can be turned into a powerful school management if you developer like. If you wouldn’t go that far, then, at least allow the site admin provide the available Roles by him/herself in Plugin Option. For example, how about let the students choose…[Read more]

Thanks @imjscn for kind review and feedback.
We keep a issues list/bugtracker at
http://github.com/scholarpress/buddypress-courseware/issues
If you have a github account, I invite you to describe in details the feature you want, if not, start a group topic, so we can chat there, and let others join us too and I will copycat it from there. -

Both root and others are redirected, that’s what I need– make one central community for all blogs.
I tried install bp on blog#2, but since it’s very difficult to get activity displaying on root sidbar, so I changed to install bp on root without using bp theme on root. Hope redirects still works sitewide on this install.
As for the trailling…[Read more] -
Jenny posted an update in the group s2Member ( Membership w/ PayPal Integration ) also works w/ BuddyPress: 14 years, 3 months ago
@Michael Eisenwasser, thanks for the nice tool. One suggestion though– the free version of s2member removes WP and BP free sign up links. For site marketing purpose, this is a very bad practis. Sure we can show the free membership on the sign up or membership option pages, but a simple “Sign up” on BP Admin bar worth more than a lot of advertizement.

@r-a-y @r-a-y, I installed bp on root blog#1, enabled bp theme on blog#2. Then, I followed your article and redirected bp permalinks from http://mydomain.com to http://mydomain.com/blog#2
This works perfect for all personal links on Adminbar, but it doesn’t work for links without a trailling slash. For example, http://mydomain.com/members deosn’t…[Read more]-
I recommend to use a trailing slash.
Redirects should work from all blogs since you’re using a subdirectory, although I’m not sure why you would need to redirect all the other blogs except the root one.

Jenny started the forum topic How to redirect sitewide BuddyPress permalinks? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 3 months ago
I installed BP sitewide, only Blog#2 uses bp default theme. I want to redirect all blog’s BuddyPress permalinks to Blog#2 This article tells how to redirect from root blog to Blog#2: https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/ Following this article, I managed redirect http://example.com – – – ->…[Read more]
