@kunalb, thanks for reply!
It’s the activity content posted in “What’s New” post form. Currently, only activities of create/edit event are listed on the single event page. “Post Updates” content are listed at the moment when newly posted, once refresh page, they are gone, can go to Sitewide Activity to read it. I just figured out– it’s not EventPress, it’s BPCP only offers “create”/”edite”.
Any plan to add Post Update content in BPCP?
If BPCP has no plan to list Post Update content on the activity page, can we add it by normal way while running BPCP for other stuffs?-
I’m not sure I understand exactly what you mean by “Post update content”; can you please explain that a bit more? It’s fairly easy to modify the activities generated by EP and BPCP.

I’m sorry, I’m still a bit lost—when I update an event, I get identical activities in both the Event Activity page and Sitewide activity page—along the lines of “kunalb updated the Event Test 1. 5 minutes ago”. The activity stays locally even if I refresh.

@kunalb, what you see is the activities of Create or Edit Event. They are fine.
If you post something in “What’s New” box, say “Hello, xyz”, this message will not stay on Event’s activity page.-
Ah, I finally understood. At the moment, there’s no way to post updates on a particular post type—if you notice, there’s a “Post in: My Profile” select box beneath “What’s new”—that’s why the activity just goes there. Thanks for pointing this issue out—you’re the first one to do so. Created an issue on BPCP, will take care of it by the next relea…[Read more]

I just partially figured out the problem– it’s because I changed the component slug in my functions.php. but changing slug should not cause such problem because bp-links allows to change it. I’m confused.

@kunalb , Is there a way I can keep Activity Post Update content staying within the event? I read in BPCP (Getting Started), it says currently support only “create”/”edite”, Does it mean this limitation is for EventPress only , or for BPCP?

@nahummadrid , I agree, using multisite for different types or contents is better. But for now, I would stick to single site for this reason: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/buddypress-and-shared-hosting/ about the search, I totally discard BP or WP search, I use Google Custom Search instead. In Google…[Read more]

@juss , this weekend I tried to change a word in a plugin. With the hellp of an efficient find/replace software, I got the job done in 8 hours. Then, spend another 6 hours to correct things that got messed up. eyes still painful till today. And that was just changing one word without using brain.
So, I guess it will take a little longer time…[Read more] -

Is it because BP has some codes to limit more than one ajax objects?

I made 2 new components, codes are exactly the same except slugs.
I use the 2 components to post different types of contents via activity updates.
Either of the two works nicely when only one of them activated.
If I activated both components, the Post Updates not working, Returns error message.
Need help!!!Thanks!

this plugin is doing a great job on this: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/cd-bp-avatar-bubble/
but you need to click or hover on the avatar to see the stuffs. If you want to display the stuffs without click or hover, you can study his code to see how he get there. -

@nahummadrid , after some study around the idea you mentioned above, I got an impression that we can also manage it under custom post type. When register the type, register a user role of “Question Creator” and give it the ability to create post. Then, in blog, set “Question Creator” as default role. So, any new […]
