    Hi

Can make a plugin for Buddypress so that the forum sends private messages to group users. This will then cause the notification system to pick up the message and show it in the grey WordPress/Buddypress notification bar. Your forum notification problem solved for only £15.

Let me know if you are interested and we will build it

I would say sure no prob unfortunately though the role I played was suggesting that when a new topic was posted a private message is sent to the members. The actual implementation was done by my developer…will see if I can get him to post a how to here.

In case anyone else is looking for an answer and comes across this post, this may help…

We found a solution of a sort.

What you need to do is include an automatic private message send to all group members except the person posting the topic. This private message then gets hooked in to the notification system and lets the user know they have a new message.

Anyone know how to add user role to BP Export Users so it shows in the csv. I have tried adding ‘Role’, ‘wp_capabilities’ (user meta in the database) but although the column is added no data is pulled into the csv

    Please can someone respond asap.

    Thanks

    Hi

Just what I am looking for I think. So if I understand right I create user profile fields for Facebook, twitter and linkedin and instead of displaying the user entered link it will display the icons for each.

Next question where do and in which file do I place the suggested code?

    thanks

    just a thought….

When editing the database from http://smark-it.com (or smark-it.com) to http://www.smark-it.com should I be putting the http:// infront of all referrences to that domain?….VERY new to databasing here so really appriciate the help.

    Thanks

    ***UPDATE****

Right I have worked out that in the main admin dashboard where I can edit user blogs, in the “Blog info (wp_blogs)” section the domain field is dropping the www. If I add the www. and then update, then go to “Users” (in Site admin menu) the users role has been changed to “no role for this blog”. If I then change the role to subscriber and save that user will have access to their blog dashboard.

So, how do I fix it so that when the user registers the www is not dropped from the domain and they are given a subscriber role?

I have checked the database siturl fields and all are set to the www address

    many thanks

    Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. I had initially installed a pack option (supplied by my hosting service) which installed both wordpress mu and buddy press but did not install properly me thinks. So I installed the wordpress mu and then the buddypress plugin. Now templates working fine except I cant seem to get the default buddypress template and the Avenue K9 one seems to be broken (have downloaded and installed many times…no luck). So where can I find the defualt template to install…cause it doesn’t come up in the theme search (nor does Avenue K9)

    Thanks
