Here’s my custom template, minus the featured sites area. Should work fine for you, assuming you’re using the default bp theme (or a child of it that is in the same layout), just dump it in your theme root folder.

I don’t remember off the top of my head, but it probably something like plugins/buddypress/themes/bp-default/activity, or if you use a child theme, should be in the activity folder there (if there is one)

a thought on the application shop…I’ve experimented lately with hardcoding a pay pal bin button into single.php, and setting up custom fields for the unique info that it needs. that way, you could just use normal posts for the purchasable items. to make things super easy on the sellers, just use the custom field template […]

hi, and thanks! I actually just made a custom page template that had the page content wrapped in a logged in conditional, and I think I just c&p’d the activity stream code under that. from there, it was just a matter of creating the page with the logged out content in it, and assigning my custom template to it. pretty easy peasy 🙂

Is there a BP default theme folder in your themes directory as well? I’ve been using my child theme for so long that I can’t remember how a vanilla install is situated.

They wouldn’t have to have a blog…they would just post to the main site (so, they’d h ave to be registered members of your BP). I allow my users to post to the main site, I just limit what they can see of the admin panel using a few other plugins (Adminimize, etc.).
