Tammie Lister posted on the forum topic Default theme : how to change the header image size ? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
Assuming you mean the custom header that you find under appearance > header then here is a blog post with a tutorial. http://buddydress.com/2010/04/custom-header-tutorial-adding-an-image-and-changing-the-size/ Excuse just linking but it pretty much sums up easier than me saying to you what to do and hopefully will help as a reference. If it’s not…[Read more]

Isn’t it also better from a spam point of view (no spam expert I will state) having everything done after confirmation stage?

I agree makes no sense that it comes before activation. I think this would make total sense from a user point of view.

I don’t think anyone was aiming to put you off anything it was more a point of opinion on my sole behalf and I’m just one voice. Perhaps float it and gain opinion and see if taken up then do. May find more feel way you do, may find more feel way I do.. who […]

I totally agree there are many sides being said here but all of the same conversation. I also actually although you may not be getting the impression come from a standards background but one persons standard background is never another’s exact point that’s why w3c spec takes so long 🙂 I am though a minimalist […]

I dunno the thought of someone moderating themselves would be funny and I’d maybe suggest you wear hats to denote the roles 🙂 I think the mere fact we’re having this discussion is a positive step for BuddyPress hopefully at least it shows that themes and the CSS stuff is having a healthy debate around […]

I don’t agree with your view of designer /dev but that’s such a debatable point it could have countless blog posts and books so lets leave that one. We all attach labels to each other and ourselves – let me attach my own label and definition of the word designer ok 🙂 I think we […]

I am actually going to say conditional comments suck. I don’t agree they are ever the best method in my experience. If we are going for lowest denominator why can’t we just have fall backs. Simple if gradients show if not just colour? I see this possibly as a point for debate as everyone has […]

I’ve been thinking about a few enhancements theme wise wanted to float out there as ideas before put forward into trac. What are opinions on: 1. Background support using built in WordPress one – would I think get a bit more ‘mileage’ out of the default theme for many 2. CSS3 gradients not images for […]

Here is some real basic styling no colouring just indenting in the traditional style of comments not the activity stream version for now figure we may as well get traditional down first?
ol.commentlist, ol.commentlist li { list-style: none; margin: 10px 0px; } ol.commentlist .children { margin-left: 20px; }
We could of course do borders […] -

Current_menu_item would be my preference to be honest as a styling option.

+1 for BP-Default Menu bar same styling maybe hover a few shades up to highlight hover.

May I suggest we have a consistent hover over colour just from a usability point of view? Even a hover and current would be the ideal I would go that stage further. I totally agree the top and sub / drop menus should both have a hover colour but it should also be the same. […]

@GUAP: There is an update out for that theme or alternatively you can follow the theme changes from 1.2.5 > 1.2.6 in the codex on this site if you are no longer a member at BuddyDress so don’t get updates. If you are though updates are free to any member it’s up to you which […]

@AnindyaRay : Well I get a JavaScript error on your page when testing with firebug and that certainly could be making your adminbar get grumpy. My advice would be to using firebug track down what is causing that by turning off all plugins and widgets and extra code you’ve added then adding it in one by […]

@AnindyaRay: Hmmm you got a link for your site? My thoughts are maybe a javascript error (try in firebug to see that) or something like error in files (did you copy over the adminbar.css and also both javascript files (ajax.php / js)? I certainly don’t get any issues with the default or my themes that don’t […]

I would say all things should be required by Blogs-Mu to be honest. However, it’s going to be a case of you’re only going to know as do. You definitely will have template changes otherwise have the magical double button issues on friends and blogs 🙂 Not sure what you mean about php file … […]

The question of ‘how to create a custom theme’ is a fairly open ended one. My advice would be start with creating child themes of the parent theme. As Chouf1 already said the codex is a great place to start. You may also want to look at how others have done things and learn by […]
