I did change back to 2.4.3 and now I have my admin area back without error. Does anyone have an idea why 2.5.0 would cause an error in the WordPress admin area?
Think I found it at https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/
OK, I have just returned to the previous BuddyPress version (1.5.7) and all is well with the world now. 1.6 doesn’t work for us….
Yes, I am trying to connect with the theme and plugin support forums as well. I am pretty sure it is not a connection with Events Manager or Gravity Forms as both of these plugins are working correctly on the website right now. Found someone else to look at the back end, and hope to find a resolution. Will share it here if I discover the source of this trauma.
I am able to manuever through the site, view forums, and create a group, but I can’t invite anyone to a group or add a friend or access my Dashboard. I have posted on every support forum I know! What code should I look for in my themes or plugins that could be causing this? IF that is the issue…
I did not have a problem until I updated Buddy Press to 1.6
Ok, I am going to just keep posting things till someone helps me figure this out. I do have the following plugins running on my site: Buddy Press, bbpress, Events Manager Pro, and Gravity Forms. Anyone have an idea which one would make the upgrade to 1.6 produce this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_displayed_user_id() in /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-template.php on line 1117
I am using the Custom Community theme. Looking through the files on the back end, but I am not used to handling things from this end. I really need someone to give me some ideas of what to look for. I did find the line mentioned in the error, but I don’t think that is where the adjustment needs to be made? I do not know how to disable plugins or adjust things outside of the Admin Page. It is really bad here…anyone have a few to help me? I am unable to monitor or even approve comments. Our website is pretty much out of control right now.
I am concerned about re-installing Buddy Press, when I am not even sure how to make sure my members accounts are not compromised. Will be up trying to get this resolved before tomorrow! It looks like the upgrade was successful, but there is a code somewhere that is locking me out of the WP dashboard.
Thank you, @Paul Gibbs. I am new to Buddy Press, and I am assuming that my theme which I chose to go with Buddy Press is the issue. What can I do? It seems that everything is working accept the admin page and the interaction among members. Any ideas where I should look first? Thank you for your assistance.
I didn’t get an update wizard at all – it went straight to this error. My only thought is that I inputted a “garden wall” in my original code to keep our website from being open to the general public. Anyone have any ideas? Help?
