@silvercover Hi there
FYI i have the activate user plugin working the way you want by editing the core. obviously that ain’t gonna cut it for mass distro, but i am on the hunt to make it a functioning plugin. i think there is a widespread usage for it when it is released.
Thanks for the idea!

just so i am clear. you want the following scenario
1) User registers
2) Clicks a link to validate their email
3) Admin gets an email that says a user has validated their email
4) Admin goes to wp-admin to see the user validation and has the option fully activate the account.is that correct?

thank you for clarifying.
yes. in your scenario the admin activation would take the place of my plugin.
is there an issue that you would like changed in the process that you described? or were you just clarifying what my plugin does?
-
Well, I think that’s great if you could implement the above scenario in your plug-in for what I’ve explained. I think BuddyPress is suffers by lack of this feature.
Thanks.

i have used the plugin Gravity Forms to accomplish this (not the exact same look and feel, but the same concept). You can create a front-end form that creates a post to a specific category. It allows you to set the post as a draft or published. i have the user use a custom field […]

hmmm…can you tell me the name of the table in your database in the “Table.jpg”? i am adjusting ‘wp_signups’ in the plugin for MU installs. is that what it is called in your install?
what version of the plugin are you currently using?

Thanks for the input.
So on both of my test installs (buddypress and buddypressMU), when i go to add a new user, they are input into the database with the correct value by default to make them activated. can you explain your situation a bit more so that i could attempt to accommodate it for you in my plugin?
Thanks
Matt

I also have not tested with with WordPress MU. as far as i know plugins act differently with WPMU. my plugin looks in a table that doesn’t exist on MU. I will make an MU install and test and fix
thanks for the heads up. my buddypress sites are not MU so far.
