hi les
so from my testing, the mu activation (just released 1.2) does send an email. this was rough coming up with the mu activation. turned out to be a simple solution though. i can tackle the single user buddpypress email in the next week or so
thanks for the kind words (your exact setup was the initial reason for developing the plugin.)

Hello All!
i have released version 1.2 of the plugin
i have tested it on the following platforms
WordPress with Buddpyress
Wordpress Network
Wordpress Network with Buddypressi was able to successfully activate users on all three configurations.
Please let me know if you run into any issues. I tested each configuration from scratch.

Hi there
so i am planning on putting in a bunch of time this weekend to try to get this working on MU. it is not something that i feel like i can put in 15 minutes here and there. i need a larger chunk of time to devote to this. again, i apologize for the delay. it was just so easy for non-mu to set up, i assumed it wouldn’t be any more…[Read more]

Hello everyone,
I apologize for the delay in responding. unfortunately, offering me money still doesn’t rectify the fact that i do not completely understand how to make this work for MU. I have been making small strides in my development, but there are a lot of things that happen in order to activate a user. for example, in non-mu, all that…[Read more]

Hi
So the plugin works fine if your WP install is NOT MU or Network. There are a lot of things that happen in those installs when a user is activated and i am having some issues doing so with this plugin. If your instal is a single user install of wordpress and buddpyress, then this plugin should work out for you.
if you need anything else…[Read more]

so i am sorry to say that i just activated it on three different sites and i did not see the error on activation. are you using the most up to date version? if it looks like you are, i would delete the plugin and grab a fresh copy.

I have been alerted to a bug in the plugin for BuddyPress MU installations. I am currently working on fixing this, so if you have an MU install i would not download the plugin. It still works fine for Buddypress NON MU sites

Hi Matt,
Sorry for the delayed response. I see the error on the plugins page when I attempt to activate the plugin. My development environment is running on XAMPP, with PHP 5.3.1. I’m going to try and deactivate other plugins to see if there’s a conflict.-

HI Jack
I just made a fresh installation of Buddypress and then installed the plugin and did not receive an error. what page/section of the admin are you seeing this error?
thanks
Matt

Yes I’ve got the same error. Matthew you need to replace all the ”<?" entries by "<?php" in your plugin.
Cheers,
Aymeric-
Bingo! I hadn’t even noticed the short tags. I changed them all and now it’s working fine.
I got out of the habit of using those a long time ago. It’s a PITA when you move to a server with short tags disabled. I’m glad they’re being removed from the next version of PHP.-

BTW, my code got cut off. You can view my solution here: http://www.themightymo.com/2010/10/22/user-activation-keys-plugin-displaying-error/

Thanks for the code – I had to do a couple more tweaks since I run BP on a secondary blog.
1. Redefine the BP_ACTIVATION_SLUG in bp-custom.php
2. Changed the URL on line 127 of wp-activate-users.php from /activate/activate?key to /myblog/activate?key
The Users-WP Activate Users page is still a little wonky. After activating a user, it stops…[Read more]
