I am currently working on a user management plugin. It is still early days, but I have already implemented an initial version on a client’s website….

Thanks for the plugin @r-a-y! I put that line of code into wp-config.php as you suggest to make people’s real names not show in the profile, which works, but it still shows in the title bar of the browser. The site went live yesterday and I only saw this today. Hopefully I’ll get it fixed before […]

@bennevis Hi Ben,
a while ago you posted something in “How-To and Troubleshooting” about missing Groups in the drop down list when posting something inside a forum. I could not find this thread for some reason. Can you please let me know if and how you fixed this issue.

@jon, try this in your child theme’s css:

#wp-admin-bar {
top:inherit;
bottom:0;
}

you still have to change the drop down menu to rise up though. But it is a start….

Thanks for your reply @mazen, I wish I had already more experience in writing pugins. So far I have just hacked them to make them do what I need. I agree with you that this should be a core feature. If my client request this feature and there is no plugin available by then, I will have to do something. We’ll see what happens. Cheers – Meini

I saw your discussion “How to manage users & their extended profiles”. I just wanted to let you know that I would be very keen in such a plugin too. Since it sounded like you are modifying Boone’s version, I thought I ask you if you have any plans or maybe some results even?

  hi @meini, thanks for the note. I was starting with that however I got too busy launching my site so I put that on hold, more like dropped the ball on it really. I will be in dire need of such plugin though in the near future so I hope somebody picks it up. I actually also requested this as a feature, ideally it should be core function. Cheers.

Actually – the workaround would be to Google for site:http://codex.buddypress.org followed by the term you look for.

Ah, thanks @Xevo, I started to think I was the only one as this situation has been like this for a while. Do you know who fixes these things? Or do you have a workaround?

Solved it: Compatibility View was turned on in IE8. Once I turned it off, things worked as expected.
