Hello, I’m using bp_get_profile_field_data to render a list of members based on custom profile field values. It kind of works, but out of the 27 results it should find, it only renders 4… I don’t have the faintest idea why and nothing I have done explains this behavior. The only idea i’ve had so far […]

Ok, nevermind. That was a very silly question 😉 @r-a-y its true that pagination is all messed up. What is the better way of doing this? I would guess this has to be done higher in the loop. I’m using this to get members displayed alphabetically and it works ok. Could this be used to select […]

Hello,
I have a custom select box profile field and one of the values has a (‘) in it.
I.E. “besoin d’aide”
Now it displays in the drop down select box as: “besoin d’aide”
How can I hide that backslash?
Thanks,

Hello, I would like to be able to render an image in the sidebar, when viewing a profile page, that is selected based on the content of a extended profile field value. My field name is “office” and the values are contained in a select box. What I would like to do is name each […]

Hello,
I have a silly question for you. Where does this code go?
Does it go in a new members-loop.php file or a custom template?
Thanks for the pointers,

Did you end up finding a solution for this?

Hello, I’ve run into something strange. I’ve created custom profile fields and noticed that “select-box” field types aren’t being found by the search. Yet if I create “text” fields then the content is being searched and found when performing a search in the members-loop. Does this mean BuddyPress can’t read content in the profile fields […]

I’m sorry if this question seems silly, but i’m unsure what this plugin does. Does it make field groups available to be filled in depending in user role… OR Does it restrict accès to the field groups depending on user role? I am looking for a way to make a specific field group visibile only […]

Hello Boone, So step 1 WORKS! Hooray 😉 This was pretty simple, i’m sorry I couldn’t find it on my own. As far as step 2 is concerned You are right, previous users who had the mistery man icon don’t have an avatar anymore. I took a look at the ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar’ section but i’m not […]

Hello Boone, Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate getting an actual answer as I may be pretty comfortable working with WordPress but BuddyPress code has me a bit lost at the moment. I will Try this and post back. About my quote, i’m sorry if it seemed “confrontational” but I guess its just […]

Hello Landman, Thanks for your input, but unfortunately I think you may have misread my post. I’ve seen this plugin around for a while, but it doesn’t address my problem at all. I am concerned with making 25 HTTP requests to a service I don’t need. I would like my users to upload their own […]

@cheovent : I’m lobbying for the same thing.
If you find a solution or get a response that doesn’t involve (hacking core files) please post it. I’ll make sure to do the same.
Thx. -

I don’t understand why there can’t be a simple option in the dashboard to disable Gravatars all together. With the possibilities offered by BuddyPress, chances are there will be an increasing number of semi-corporate web sites or portals that will make it on line with a LOT of content. They are all going to want […]

mistercyril posted on the forum topic How to disable Gravatar completely? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 5 months ago
I understand the point behind standard Gravatar integration in WP & BP but what if your target audience is by no means tech-savy and has very low probability of having a Gravatar account (I myself don’t even have one…)? Doesn’t that make multiplying http requests to display the default mistery man completely pointless? And with […]

Hello, I was wondering what the title tag should look like for a site running essentially on wordpress posts and pages with buddypress group, forum and member pages. My problem is that BuddyPress Seo doesn’t work because my header.php in my main theme file has a title tag that is pretty standard: wp_title(); How do […]
