  • Hi @mpvshameem I was having this problem and it was solved by installing the plugin called Mail From by Andrew Hamilton. For some reason the confirmation emails weren’t getting sent (I have bluehost, and it seems to be a common issue with them).
This plugin helped the emails get through, but it actually didn’t actually do anything else that it was supposed to do. I wanted to change the mail from address that people see in the confirmation email but I ended up having to call bluehost and they fixed it for me. The bluehost rep told me that WP often has generic or inaccurate headers so some things don’t work as they should. I pretended like I understood what that meant and was happy my problem was solved.

I did, but i’m not sure if it’s totally kosher- started a new thread here
    https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/apply-css-style-to-div/

Yeah, I noticed that too, how do i change this the right way? I’m a noob! Do I add another div .single inside of the .post div?

update: I found a workaround by changing the css entry for “.post” to contain the attributes of the style I wanted it to have. But I would like to know the right way to fix this.

Thanks so much @mercime! Fix worked- pages are displaying in the correct area, but now the sidebar is displaying beneath the content ( http://www.rowvision.com/members/miguel/profile/ ). Can I get a little assistance with this too? I saw a thread earlier with the same prob and now can’t seem to find it.

You presume correct, I have gone through the wordpress to buddypress codex page.

Also can you explain explain a little more about changing the tags wrapped around page titles. Where should I look to see how my theme does the page title tags?

    Thanks again- MM

@n_sane I had the same issue. A quick check of the wp database showed new users were being created with user level 2, which, in this case, means that they have not confirmed their registration. Also I realized i had not received any of my dummy account registration conf. emails.

I found a workaround for this by changing the user status to 0 in the wp_core_startup file, but that was an inadvisable way of fixing the issue since it totally deactivated the email registration system, which i really don’t didn’t want to bypass, and that file will get overwritten in any bp update.

The fix was to install the ‘Mail From’ plugin by andrew hamilton. this apparently allows the registration emails to go out, and then user_status and registration can be handled the way it was designed to. I’m hosted with bluehost and have a hunch their mail system isn’t playing nice with bp and this plugin seems to allow it to do that.
