In reply to: Theme designers: contribute to core
I’ve been working on this over here http://tempsg.com/
I was doing it with a if ( is_nav_menu( ‘BuddyPress’ ) )
show menu
else
show the hard coded linksIn reply to: Verified accounts?What abut using one of the member roles plugins? Then adding a code to a members profile that shows a check if they are verified or added to a certain role?
In reply to: Best Plugin for dropdown menus?I think they want the main tabs to have drop downs. Search https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=drop+down+menu&sort=
There are a bunch but the problem is they won’t match the BP default style. You’ll have to add the code to call the wp custom nav and delete the hard coded BP nav.
I posted about it awhile back
This happened on another theme and I added the page.php file but it should be in the default. I forgot about the issue until I just updated a child theme and they rejected again. The last time it happened it took 6 weeks to get the theme finally approved. I guess they were backed up reviewing themes. I may stop using the repo. It takes too long to fix minor things. Why do they have to review themes but not plugins? Never understood this.The page.php file for the default theme is missing
comments_template();
So theme reviewers are rejecting BP child themes because they test a page and the comments are not showing. I’m not sure why now after months they have decided to reject any new themes due to this but it’s happening to themes already in the repo that i’m trying to fix.
In reply to: BP Columns theme issuesIf your columns are not equal height then the separator will never match unless you use images that span the height of the page. The tags issue is the tags plugin issue. I do not test themes for every plugin. If you use plugins and things go wonky you will need to edit to fix them. Those tags are coded to fit a full width page. You’ll have to mess with the css to fix it. Look at the css for the search box and you’ll see it’s saying -37px try changing that to 0px.
In reply to: Club BeloteIs that slider on every page or just when you are logged out? If it’s every page I’d fix it so it’s just home page when you are logged out.
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageAs soon as I get a chance I’ll fix the column issue but you need to give me more info on what browser and version you are using.
In reply to: Old themeNo, but you could recreate it as a child theme.
In reply to: unable to remove search bar from BP default headeryou either need to remove the code or hide it with CSS either way it’s best to create a simple child theme. If you choose CSS, the easiest way, find the id for it and give it a display:none;
In reply to: Largest BP community site?typo I think it was 15 per page
In reply to: Largest BP community site?There are 4200 pages of members with 20 per page making that 63K members on Tasty Kitchen.
In reply to: jquery problemTell the developer of the plugins so they can check.
In reply to: Default Theme going widgetYou can add the login form to one of the columns after
<div id="third-section" class="widget">
login code:
<?php if ( is_user_logged_in() ) : ?><?php do_action( 'bp_before_sidebar_me' ) ?>
<div id="sidebar-me">

I think those blog avatars should be removed permanently. Really unnecessary from a UI / UX stand point. It’s just clutter.
In reply to: Change default themeWhat you are asking sounds like you are referring to WP pages. If you want to change the default theme then you need to create a child theme and then copy over the file you want to change from bp-default into you child themes folder keeping folder structure intact
In reply to: Child theme is not working after 1.2.6 upgradeThat child theme should be ok with 1.2.6 it’s just a couple page templates.
In reply to: Theme function to change Buddypress slugIn reply to: Duplicate Add Friends Members DirectoryIn members/members-loop.php

<?php bp_member_add_friend_button() ?>
In reply to: 2 buttons “Add a friend” by member BP 1.2.6I’ll be updating. remove: from buddypress-mobile/themes/default/ members/members-loop.php
<?php bp_member_add_friend_button() ?>
In reply to: is bp-dev.org dead?Maybe I’ll take a crack at one. I need to learn more.
Do not edit the theme files from the folder bp-default. you need to create a child theme first. This way you won’t mess up your installation and can upgrade.
