It’s either a plugin, or my template for some reason……

I think that was it.
Have moved them (most) to the footer instead.
Thanks Paul.

On the initial load, i have a 10 second GET (wait) on the dashboard – would this just be due to lots of plugins begin called, and not yet minified / combined?
Or indicative of something else you think?

Thanks a lot. I plan to not add them in via wp, but manually use our inhouse combine script which gzips and minifies at the same time.
Thanks again. Will let you now how it goes.

@imjscn: that looks great. I would actually be using a custom combine script, that I would place outside of the Wp functions. ie hard code the combine in either header or footer. I assume then that I would only need to deregister css and js, and not do the enqueue bit. Is this right? if so, […]

… following on from the performance improvement thread, perhaps someone that knows can inform us of how to do this. I already have a combine script that I use elsewhere on my site, but am not sure how to do this within buddypress. What do i need to modify in order to grab all the […]

Clearly, this is THE one big issue that everyone faces. I agree, thatthere needs to be an official HOW TO for page load speed and performance. Granted everyone has different setups, but things like manually combining js and css and calling from a subdomain is something everyone should be able to do, if we are […]

Can this be done? Eg I want to have profiles for my kids on my own profile page. One profile each, together on my member user account.
Anyone seen or heard of this please?

Nup. Joomla has so many SEO holes in it, it’s not funny. Even with so called SEO plugins, it is still a horible nightmare.
Bad code, horrible backend…. the user experience is just not a good one.
Anyone comes to me with a Joomla site, I simply turn them away… or sugest they rebuild.

Don’t do it. I signed up then bailed within days. Got a weird feeling. You’ll get a much better deal with Stormondemand.
