I can confirm that we have this problem as well on WPMU 2.9.2.2 and BP 1.2.4

You should upload it to the BP Plugin repository so that others will be able to find it in the future by searching the repository. Just make sure to include “Buddypress” in the tags.

Oh, I can confirm that I have this problem as well. I’m running 0.9.1 of the plugin on BP 1.2.4.1 with WPMU 2.9.2

I have 5 check-boxes which are: Current, Previously, Graduate, Parent, and Never. When one of the boxes is selected, such as “Current” it appears on in the Avatar bubble as:

a:1:{i:0;s:7:"Current";}

That sounds highly like a matter of opinion. What’s the average age of your userbase?

While I’ve had the occasional complaint, I would say that it’s just a normal process. Your users will eventually get used to the site. I would say that BP’s “complicatedness” is somewhere above Twitter’s but below YouTube’s.

I think you might be able to do something similar by using the activate_plugins(); function. For example in footer.php

I’ll confirm that using a custom language file is the correct to do it. It’ll save you a ton of headaches and pain. It’s actually fairly simple. Just read the documentation. 🙂
