In Buddypress, you’ll find all the css stuff in yourtheme/style.css.
Oh yeah, and use Firebug for Firefox to track down stuff you want to modify in your theme. It’s a real joy, that addon!

Copy groups/single/group-header.php to your child theme. You can then edit it the way you want.

It’s a premium plugin, so you’d have to sign up as a member of his site to get it (membership = $30/3 months). The fee is worth every penny though: you’ll find a LOT of other useful plugins.
