I had the same problem and discovered that the Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ buddypress plugins were conflicting with the email send. When I removed those fields from the register page the emails started to come through again.

Is this code added in the page editor or one of the php files?

I would like to send a user to the edit profile area on the page that comes up when the user logs in.

I too am having the same problem. The Registration page was automatically created and when I edit that page the permalink is http://pc.bradstreets.net/register HOWEVER when I click view page (or click Register in my Nav) I get my home page. I have checked the Buddypress Pages setup and it is set to the right page – I just can’t view that page in any fashion.
