Have you tried using the BuddyPress Template Pack plugin with your existing WordPress theme? https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/ Follow the steps closely. You’ll probably need to tweak the CSS styles once you have the Template Pack plugin up and running. A good CSS debugger is the Firefox plugin, Firebug:…[Read more]

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Taking Buddypress Offline onto a USB. in the group Requests & Feedback: 15 years, 3 months ago
MAMP is needed if you’re using a Mac 😉 I would use a WAMP package unless your professor has a Mac, but yes, it is completely possible to have BuddyPress run locally off a USB stick. First, you’d need to find a MAMP / WAMP / LAMP package that is portable. Some portable WAMP packages […]

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Adding topic tags after topic creation? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 3 months ago
@pisanojm – Just looked into this… there’s a bit of patching that needs to be done across multiple files to get topic tags on the edit screen working.
I’ve got a preliminary version working on my testbox. Will add a patch in the next day or so. Stay tuned on Trac!

Hey modemlooper, appreciate the ping, however mods do not have the ability to stop spammers in their paths (yet!).
You can ping @johnjamesjacoby when the next spammer comes along.

Ahh sorry, I haven’t updated the beta to include that! It’s working on my testbox.
I’m going to be uploading beta-2 in the next day or two, which will include thumbnail support.

Excellent! I’ve been using your beta version and it’s running smooth

Any news on the beta 2 release date?

Hey Anton, I’ve had to deal with some non-coding issues the past few days.
I’ve got to get through a pile of todos, then I’m going to come back to oEmbed later in the week.-
Thanks @r-a-y

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Is it possible to with BuddyPress? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 4 months ago
This is more of a WordPress thing, but yes, it’s possible. Though, I would do it with only one page. eg. example.com/dashboard No need to create pages for every single user in your userbase! I would create a custom page template wrapped around an “is_user_logged_in()” conditional so only logged in users can view it. Then […]

I don’t think this should be part of Jeff Sayre’s plugin as this has nothing to do with privacy.
Would work well as a simple plugin like techguy says… should be very easy to put something together with usermeta.

You can try removing the stripslashes filter applied to forum posts.
Add the following to your theme’s functions.php file:
remove_filter( 'bp_get_the_topic_post_content', 'stripslashes_deep' ); -

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
You’ll have to create your own function that uses a SQL query to grab the count of people matching that particular xprofile field.
For hints, check out any of the functions that uses a SQL query and “count” in /buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-classes.php
