BP needs syntax highlighting *cough boone* 😉
In the meantime, Pastebin is your friend!

If there is no saved setting for the meta, you should declare a blank array.
eg.
$my_meta == groups_get_groupmeta(….);if ( empty($my_meta) )
$my_meta = array(); -

If you’re modifying the AJAX activity stream, you need to modify the $query_string.
Read this thread for pointers:

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Group Activity Feed in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
@amahesh – You need to wrap the code in functions.php with open and closing PHP tags.
eg.Replace square brackets with triangular ones.

Sounds like a javascript issue. Check your error console in your browser for JS error messages when you click on those submit buttons.

You have to ask 1000 and 1 times! 😉 You have to modify the profile loop (/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php) Change this line:
while ( bp_profile_fields() ) : bp_the_profile_field();to:while ( bp_profile_fields() ) : bp_the_profile_field(); if ( bp_get_the_profile_field_id() != 'ID # YOU WANT TO SKIP' ) :then change the corresponding…[Read more] -

@amahesh – You shouldn’t be modifying any files in /plugins/buddypress. If you’re modifying the bp-default theme, build a child theme . That way, when you upgrade BP, your changes will not be wiped out! Once you build your child theme, follow the instructions I outlined above. And yes, you make a duplicate of bp-activity-group-feed.php and put it…[Read more]

Glad it worked for you.
FYI, you don’t need to serialize or unserialize arrays since BP does that automatically for you when you cache meta!

Make sure you save the groupmeta as an array or as a comma-delimited entry.
Then you can do your check with in_array() or strpos().

r-a-y posted on the forum topic How can I reactivate a deleted forum thread? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
The good news is the thread isn’t entirely deleted! The bad news is you’ll have to go into your DB to retrieve it. Login to PHPMyAdmin or whatever is your SQL tool of choice and navigate to wp_bp_bb_topics (or whatever is your bbPress table). Find the topic you want to retrieve, then edit it and […]

The bp-default theme does not look cosmetically good in IE6. Some CSS rules are using newer ones that IE6 just doesn’t support. Also, the BP admin bar will be displayed in the footer instead of being fixed at the top. However, most of the functionality should work. You could try installing IE7-JS: http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/ It attempts […]

r-a-y posted on the forum topic 2 Seperate Themes, One for Blog, and One for BuddyPress? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
You’d have to turn your WordPress 3.0 install into a network and create a secondary blog.
Then you could activate the BP-default theme on this new blog.
Follow these instructions:

Use something like
echo WP_PLUGIN_URL . '/' . basename(dirname(__FILE__));This will give you the URL to your plugin directory.

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Replace Activity Stream blog excerpt with the_excerpt in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
@ipstenu – Take the code I posted and then you’ll also need to apply a filter so BP doesn’t create its own excerpt.
This can be done with:

@amahesh – In your theme’s functions.php, make sure your code looks something like this: http://pastebin.com/Pn1jFXG5 Read the comments in the code. Then In your duplicate of bp-activity-group-feed.php, you need to change:
if ( bp_has_activities( 'object=' . $bp->groups->id . '&primary_id=' . $bp->groups->current_group->id .…[Read more] -

@korhanekinci This question is not related to my plugin, but whatever 😉 bp_member_permalink() will not work because it is not within the context of the member loop. Try something else like
bp_core_get_user_domain( $user_id ). You need to pass the user’s ID though. You could try –bp_core_get_userid( $data )Though I’m not sure if $data exists,…[Read more] -
