No, it doesn’t.
Some have had success with the latest release of CometChat – http://www.cometchat.com/ – which is quite close to FB’s footer chat.
Some other alternatives are listed here:

You have blank spaces either at the beginning of your PHP opening tag or at the end. Delete them.

You’d need to hook into “the_content” filter.
Something like this in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php will work:
function my_hook_into_blog_post( $content ) {
if( is_single() ) :
$profile = PROFILE STUFF; // look into bp-xprofile.php and bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-templatetags.php to grab profile data$content = $content .…[Read more]

A lot of people will be loving this plugin. Thanks for contributing, firetag!
Got a question, I haven’t tested the plugin yet, but in the installation FAQ, you say that no groups should be created before using the plugin. Is it safe to use on an existing installation with groups?

r-a-y posted on the forum topic How do I add buddyPress within my existing blog? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
Easy answer is install the BP Template Pack plugin. This will keep the look of your site while adding BP functionality. This will not add BP pages under the “forum” page though. — If you want everything BP-related including member profiles, groups, etc. to reside under the “forum” slug (eg. thecoalcity.com/forum/members/admin and…[Read more]

Hey hachimaki,
Your needs would need to be custom-coded. When a user creates a blog, they have the option to select its privacy. A possible solution involves checking if the blog in question is private; if so redirect to the registration page, if not, leave open to public.

Hmm, maybe it’s due to a lack of permissions.
I’m guessing I have elevated rights or something…If you’re having trouble creating the page, I can create it for you, then you can edit it via the frontend AJAX editor.

Even though you’re allowed to publicly post the plugins, it’s generally frowned upon.
Someone recently did the same thing with their Ning to BP plugin and that drove a big discussion about the GPL.
I say if you’re going to share it, share it privately amongst a few friends but don’t publicly address the fact that you’re releasing them.

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Replying to blog post in the activity stream as post comments rather than just activity stream repli in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
I was thinking about doing something like this. Activity stream comments will create a corresponding blog comment / forum post and vice versa.
I think it’s possible, but there’s also the potential for problems to occur.For example, someone replies from the activity stream at the same time as someone replying from the blog post.

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Search Query and MySQL help in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 5 months ago
Yeah, I amended my previous post after I typed it because I noticed the query would not work.
You’ll have to join the same table, then you could get the result you need.Do a search on Google on self joins for more info.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. I thought you meant you were looking to join wp_bp_xprofile_data and wp_bp_xprofile_fields.
I’m thinking you’ll have to join the same table together in order to do what you want.

I’m not a SQL guy myself, but because the data is divided in separate tables, look into constructing a select join query.
See how it’s done in /bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-classes.phpAlso take a look at the BP Member Filter plugin or the BP Profile Search plugin.

r-a-y posted on the forum topic BP Usernames Only – Plugin Announcements in the group BuddyPress Usernames Only: 15 years, 5 months ago
@rossagrant – Here’s something quick. Add the following to your CSS: table.profile-fields tr.field_1 {display:none;} This will hide the “Name” field from profile pages. If you really need the username to be shown in the profile loop, since you’re using the plugin on a financial site, donate something to the plugin and I’ll look into switching the […]

@rossagrant – You could, but it’s a design decision by me to leave it that way.
I’ve listed the reasons why on multiple occasions, but I’ll bring up the example of Twitter.
If you’re on someone’s Twitter page you can view their display name in the sidebar. -
