The current version doesn’t allow resizing. The upcoming version will allow you to set a fixed width for videos in the activity stream, activity permalinks and forum posts.

Yes, you’re correct, sorry. I was referencing my own wp-config.php!
Make sure you have pretty permalinks enabled.
Also check your server’s error log (if you’re able to access it) to see if any errors were made to the log. -

wp-config.php does have closing tags… I’d suggest you download a fresh copy of WordPress and compare your wp-config.php to the stock install. Also it would be better to post your problems in your other thread that you opened, instead of using status updates.
-
no disrespect but i did check things like that before i came to you for help…trust me, i am new to wordpress/buddypress, but I do try to do things at my end before I would go asking for help…
i also checked the “browser-blank” thing in different browsers…when everywhere i was getting the same result, it was then only that i passed on the…[Read more]-

Not cool to notify more than five people on the community to answer your questions on a post you made only four hours ago.
-
@r-a-y hmmm…i understand…its just that I was just looking for someone who could help me out here…so was asking people whose profile seemed relevant to have a look…
But i do get the point… 🙂

@danfun – That is not a bug, but an intentional design layout; it’s supposed to mimic Twitter’s status permalinks.
eg. http://twitter.com/buddypressdev/status/11101736399
If you don’t like this, if you created a child theme, you can override the activity permalink in your child theme’s /members/single/activity/permalink.php.

@bplove – This idea has been requested before; I’m looking into this for a future version. The upcoming one will probably not support this though.

Interesting idea… right now, the plugin doesn’t support this. Not sure if I’m going to add it.
This is a plugin-by-committee, so if other people like this idea, then I might incorporate it in a future version.

Did you have any BuddyPress plugins active when you deactivated BP the first time? Chances are that is what happened.

This question has been asked many times.
The plugin will be released simultaneously when BP 1.2.4 comes out. -

Yup! That’s the point 😉

Hi, i’ve noticed as an admin, I’m also not able to send the private message. I thought admin can send it. Do I need to adjust some where?
-
You should be able to. Are you using standard WP or WPMU? I haven’t done any testing with standard WP, but if you’re an administrator or can access the blog options pages in standard WP, my plugin should work.
On WPMU, you need to be a site administrator, which is different than a regular administrator.
Let me know which version of WP you are using.
-
Im using WPMU, yes I’m a site administrator as well, but can’t see the private message.
-
In WPMU, I just gave site admin access to another member and that member is able to send private messages to other people w/o being friends.
Just to be clear, is your username listed as a site admin here?
http://wpmu.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/siteausers.jpg-
yes my username is here. But still unable to see the private message. Anything else i should check?
-
So your username is listed under “Site Admin > Options” under the Site Admins field?
-
-
Yes, I’ve created another member as Admin and that member also unable to send PM to non-friend. Do other plugins have affect on this?
-
Is this member created as a site admin?

Please don’t bump your own thread three hours after your initial post. 24 hours is a good duration before bumping again. As for your question, set the WordPress default role to “Contributor” (https://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_General_SubPanel) and the member should be able to post. Though your member will have to use the WordPress dashboard to…[Read more]

Math challenge or custom question and answer.

Math challenge is easy to bypass.
Custom question is as good as the first time you see it.
The proposed solution here works. You can’t hack it with the traditional tools. You just can’t. Hence why I think it is superior to anything else I’ve found. You can argue ( or opinion-ate) all you want, but my solution solves the problem and you can’t…[Read more]

This nested post is nice. I like the look & feel.
Show me a better solution to solve this annoying reg spam bot issue and I’ll be happy to listen. But this is the best method I’ve used bar none. One could inject a noscript element tag if they were passionate about losing javascript disabled browsers, but I’m not that interested in designing…[Read more]

For those users that have it turned off! (yup a small minority, but still!)
-
That’s a weak argument. Sorry, but it is.
Web design should push as much as possible to the client side, aka javascript. You got a large suite of features with Jquery/ajax and javascript. Few people will run a browser without it now.
Next you’ll be saying frames are good? LOL.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but to ignore a huge problem with…[Read more]

Nice! Maybe stupid question..
Also for videos in blog posts?
You change that in the Media settings in the WordPress Dashboard.
Yup Jake is right. WordPress handles this.
I see! Thanks!
