Yeah, right now it requires some low-level theme hacking like removing the private message button if the displayed user is not a friend of the logged-in user.
However, Francesco is working on a moderation component (as I’m sure you know!)

ok so yours worked grouping the 2 together but mine wouldn’t work having them seperate, why is that?
It depends on where you placed the CSS snippets. I hope you created a child theme to make your changes. Creating a child theme allows you to make changes to the default BP theme easily.

Ahh okay, try this plugin by Rich:

Also make sure you have enabled the discussion forum for each group.

I think Famous means the default theme isn’t default blog-friendly.
I’ve read a thread by Famous asking for this before:

@kippnkatie – I would strongly recommend learning some elementary CSS. Using the Firebug plugin with Firefox also helps immensely.
Replace your following snippet above with:
#members-dir-list .item-list li, #groups-dir-list .item-list li {clear:both;margin:0 0 2em 0;padding:10px 0;}This should fix both your members and groups directory.

@bofw – I don’t experience this problem with the default BP theme. — Anyway, some general updates about the plugin. Sorry for the lack of progress! (blame it on me moderating the forums!) Next version will definitely include: -activity stream resizing + activity stream permalink resizing -changes to caching logic for performance reasons -support…[Read more]

Put the wp-blog-header.php line at the top of your script.
Also try posting on the WordPress forums, as this isn’t really a BP issue.

You’ve declared “display” as screen_function in your org_info_add_subnav() function.
So now, you need to create a “display()” function with some code to display your admin page.
In the skeleton component, the function you would want to look at is “bp_example_screen_one()” for hints.—
Also is your plugin…[Read more]

Again, this isn’t very clear. Please outline your steps. Let’s say your external bbPress install is located under /bbpress/. Your custom template would reside in /bbpress/my-templates/YOURNEWTHEME/. In this case, you’d want to put “bbbp-default” under /bbpress/my-templates/. Then you go to /bbpress/bb-admin/ and activate the bbPress theme. It’d…[Read more]
