Hi.

I installed buddypress and then enabled bbpress through buddypress. I created groups with forums. and i created sufficient number of forums too.

we have all topics and my topics and forum tags on forums page
My problem is when i load the forums page every time its showing there were no topics found.I have to click on the tabs All…[Read more]

@r-a-y its a bit hard to talk privately on the forum.. So what I think I would like to do is offer the plug-ins to the active developers on buddypress.org and if any one is interested in the plug-in and developing it further, Ill send it to them.

  It’s generally bad practice to take someone’s existing plugin behind a pay wall, modify it and then releasing it. If the plugin is abandoned, then that’s a different story.
  
  This is not something I’m going to bring up, however you are free to do so.

@r-a-y Thanks for the tip you gave me earlier. I appreciate. My problem is working out step 3 on the template-pack. Can you help me with it – I can read through all that was written but I don’t know how to get the compartibility stuff working. Pls can you help?

  You need to look at your theme’s page.php template and make the rest of your BP template files match that format.

@r-a-y, yeah for now the cookie clearance seems to do the trick but for a site with busy forums this feature is a big part of BP which is needed. Could really do with a fix for 1.2.6

Who’s best to target for this. I don’t mind testing any patches etc.

@lincme @r-a-y Thanks for the reply. It seems to be a cookie issue. If I clear my browsers cookies then I get normal ‘Load Mores’ but not sure how long that will last with new activity being added all the time. That Trac ticket is 5 months old, I’m suprised this hasn’t been nailed yet. The fix […]

@r-a-y yes it’s totally safe but in order to maintain forwards compatability with the plugin it’s best to only use on installations that currently don’t have any groups

I suppose i should learn to code on wordpress, much more difficult than Joomla! or Nuked for me.

  Hmm, maybe it’s due to a lack of permissions.
  I’m guessing I have elevated rights or something…
  
  If you’re having trouble creating the page, I can create it for you, then you can edit it via the frontend AJAX editor.

yep, i asked @r-a-y ‘coz i know he has do something with it; the author is @Jehy (4 months since active). The thing is i don’t know how to code in wordpress or buddypress.

  Even though you’re allowed to publicly post the plugins, it’s generally frowned upon.
  
  Someone recently did the same thing with their Ning to BP plugin and that drove a big discussion about the GPL.
  
  I say if you’re going to share it, share it privately amongst a few friends but don’t publicly address the fact that you’re releasing them.

@r-a-y I’ve actually already tried that exact SQL query (it seems to make logical sense at first glance) but it doesn’t work because the “AND” statement is trying to make 2 different rows with different values match…which, obviously they don’t. They share a common user_id, but not field_id or value…thus being the problem.

@r-a-y Actually the problem is that the data is on the SAME table…not a different one…if it were different tables this would be easier 🙁
