In reply to: Home Theme and Member Theme troubleshooting
Arghh… your server hates me! Way too slow!
This will work… in your bp-themes/bpmember/style.css, add this:
#header {height:112px;}Adjust the height to your liking… don’t ask me why I have to define the height… it’s what works the quickest at this time without me going into your CSS and debugging!
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressSo you never had the chance to activate the plugin?
I would recommend removing the deep integration code and seeing if you can access your forums first.
Make sure your bbPress forums are in working order, then add the deep integration code, then activate the plugin.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressSo what happens when you go to your bbPress forums?
The last thing you got to do is reactivate the BuddyBar plugin in bbPress!
Did you do that?
In reply to: Home Theme and Member Theme troubleshootingWhich one is the bad header? The home theme or the member theme?
Looks simple enough… the container holding the bad header needs a background CSS attribute. That’s what my guess would be.
I can’t do anything from here without a link though!
Yes you need deep integration for the BuddyBar bbPress plugin.
Make sure you follow the instructions in the readme.txt.
Also for the forum look… unless you’re using the default BuddyPress look + Manoj’s bbPress theme (http://manojkumar.org/buddypress-theme-for-bbpress/), you’ll have to basically create a new theme that matches your WP/BuddyPress theme.
There’s no really good way around it I’m afraid.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressSorry you should use the official bb-config.php instructions that JJJ left, except replace:
include_once( '/the/absolute/path/to/your/wp-blog-header.php' );for
include_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/wp-blog-header.php');—
One question though, where do you have WPMU installed? in the root?
In reply to: Group forums not working (again)Did you follow TheEasyButton’s instructions of disabling and re-enabling Discussion Forum in the “Test” group?
ht*p://example.com/groups/YOURGROUP/YOURUSERNAME/group-settings
Uncheck “Enable discussion forum” and “Save Changes”.
Then re-check “Enable discussion forum” and “Save Changes” again.

Also remove the oci-bp-sayhello.php file.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressHey matthijsv,
You shouldn’t have to mess with wp-blog-header.php.
Unless you made changes to it.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressHey matthijsv,
What happens when you switch out in bb-config.php:
include_once( '/the/absolute/path/to/your/wp-blog-header.php' );for
require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/wp-blog-header.php');In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressHey matthijsv,
What line are you adding to bb-config.php?
You should only add this to line 2:
require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/wp-blog-header.php');Let us know what happens.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressQuick note: this currently doesn’t rehook the javascript, but it will. Just need to sleep now. Haha!
Since JJJ is in dreamland, for those that do want the javascript hook (even though I plan on not adding it for my own usage! Sorry IE6 users!
), here’s the extra code:Add this after line 29 of bp-buddybar.php:
add_action( 'bb_head', 'bp_core_add_js' );
add_action( 'bb_admin_head', 'bp_core_add_js');It should work, but somebody test it with IE6 and report back.
In reply to: bbPress 1.0.1 ReleasedMan already? :p
Thanks for the update, John.
[EDIT]
Just updated! Relatively painless!
Thanks to _cK_ over at bbPress for posting a link to the changed file set only.
In reply to: BuddyBar for bbPressHey John,
Thanks for the co-credit!
You might want to add deep integration instructions in the readme.txt.
Other than that, let’s see more BuddyPress sites out in the open!
In reply to: No input file specified.First things first, do you have WPMU 2.71 running correctly before you try and install BuddyPress?
Secondly, try manually installing BuddyPress by downloading the .ZIP file from the WordPress plugins repository (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress/).
Do not trust the automatic installer! Put the entire contents of the folder in /wp-content/plugins/ and then login to the WPMU admin area’s plugins page and activate.
Let us know what happens.
In reply to: No input file specified. You’re not giving us any specifics.
How are you installing BuddyPress into WPMU?
What is your process?
In reply to: bp_blogs_confirm_blog_signup() problemDefinitely not a theme problem…
Something is up with the do_action( ‘template_notices’ ) in /blogs/create.php.
Just tested this on my dev server and it works there… so as long as it works there, I’m not as concerned with my testbox! hehe
In reply to: Groups' links broken (BP.org)I’ve noticed that too… but I’m glad you mentioned it!
In reply to: bp_blogs_confirm_blog_signup() problemYay… it only seems to be me!
Going to be great to debug!
I guess I should mention that I’m using a customized version of the bpskeletonmember theme.
I’m going to cross-reference my theme with the official BP member theme and see if it could be a theme issue… although I don’t think it would be a theme issue.
In reply to: Buddypress Fatal ErrorI think you’ve banged your head against the table too much, and that’s why you’ve been off your game, TheEasyButton!
In reply to: New version of custom profile filter pluginThanks for replying, Boone.
I’ll see what I can do.
In reply to: MediaWiki edits -> BP activity streamsNice job, Boone!
There’s probably going to be a few people interested in this!
In reply to: Home Theme and Member Theme troubleshootingAre you sure you’ve cross-checked your BP home header.php with your BP member header.php?
With the exception of a couple of customizations and function calls, they should be almost identical.
Yay!
Hey Chris,
Have you tried just installing BP 1.0.2, bbPress 1.0 and WPMU?
Instead of starting from BP 1.0 and then upgrading?
I’m running on localhost.localdomain and I don’t get that weird COOKIE_DOMAIN localhost IP when I go to the bbPress Integration settings in WPMU.
