refe started the forum topic [Resolved] New users can’t login in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 6 months ago

I recently installed BuddyPress and I was able to do all of the back-end stuff and set up my Admin profile, but when I tried to create a dummy user to test out the registration process I was unable to login the fully registered dummy user. Any idea why this would be happening?

Ok, the wp mail smtp plugin didn’t seem to work, but I installed the Mail From plugin and that did the trick, so thank you for pointing me in that direction! Problem solved, thanks guys.

No such luck. Just tried again with another email account – it is just not sending out the emails.

Thanks for your response Brandon. I used other email addresses that I operate and I never received any email from my site or from WordPress/buddypress. Is there something I need to activate or set up to make those emails go out?

Anybody? Users still can’t login – I’ve looked through all of the backend options and can’t find anything that might be preventing registered users to login. Any ideas?
