Apart from that I got everything right??? : )

Understand about Custom Press, the site is a bit of an experiment at the moment and needs rationalising back. ( You should see the plugins I have deactivated!!!

Understand about xProfiles and didn’t mean to suggest there was a correlation,it’s all happened at once.

I have the test site on bluehost under the irrilium domain which should not be a network. I have another bluehost domain stocastica, which is run in network mode with a few websites active so I’ll have a look and see if I made a goof on the install for http://www.irrilium.com.

As you already know, I am a noob 5 months into this new world so all errors are mine, especially changing Mr Gibb’s name. I was sure I written Gibbs, I will apologise to him.
Thank you for your interest and support kunalb, I appreciate you are very busy!

    Hi kunalb.

Well I have it working again but I am not sure if I solved the problem. The Eventpress plugin reverted to normal behaviour after I deactivated the WPMU CustomPress plugin.
Once I was sure Eventpress was working properly I reactivated CustomPress expecting to see the same problem but no,both are coexisting nicely.

This is not the only problem I have experienced, I have had problems with xprofile not working. This started working again after I deactivated PaulSmith’s Welcome Pack plugin and this was also possible to reactivate. I have also been throwing server 500 problems, white pages errors as well. This was solved by a reinstall from a back-up but the Eventpress and xprofile problem remained
All very very odd – and I suspect a hosting setting hosting error which has been correct.
I would like to understand what happened as I hate the thought of the site being fragile but for now it’s all up and running as designed.

I promise not to bug you unless it recurs at some point.

Hi kunalb, thought as much but it is good to get confirmation.

I have added two plugins recently but the problem remains after I have deactivated them.
I am doing a full diagnostic on plugins tomorrow and will update on what I find.
    Appreciate you taking an interest.

    Anybody?
Is this expected behaviour and I am to dumb to understand it? : )

Bump with and update in the hope that anyone has seen this before or have any ideas.

If I turn off extended profiles in BP component admin I can access the basic profile from both the avatar link and the BP nav bat. It is only with extended profiles enable that I see the error. Could this be a directory problem?

I have rebuilt php.ini and .htaccess but this had no effect.

    Got me stumped : (

Hi Brandon, you must never sleep!

So I have deactivated WP Super Cache and updated permalinks via dashboard> settings.
I click on Profile in the BP nav bar at the top of the page and the url shows

    http://www.irrilium.com/SecretPlan/members/admin/profile/public/

but I get a white screen, no data at all…

    Thanks for the replies guys

    @Virtuali
bluehost can’t help other than to offer a restore from last month when everything was working

@ Barndon Allen . I tried turning off WP Super cache but that did not change anything.

I opted for a more recent restore when I know that everything was working OK but I still have the 500 error.
I looked into .htaccess but there is very little in this file. this is all it contains

    # Use PHP5 Single php.ini as default
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5s .php

I renamed this .htaccess_old as suggested in another part of the forum but this did not cure the problem either.

I am guessing that .htaccess is part of the problem as it looks somewhat Spartan compared to others I have seen referenced in this Forum.

My last chance nuclear option is to download all the CSS and Header.php and Footer.php mods I have made and a copy of the pluggins folder and go for the month old restore….

To update. The situation has got worse. The only url now working is the site root http://www.irrilium.com/SecretPlan. all other links from this page give me a 404 error.

Thank you hnla for a quick and detailed response. So to check if I understand you correctly, by introducing the correct classes in the correct order I can differentiate the Avatar and Item-lists of the Groups and Members pages and apply different CSS styling?

Got the changes I needed via header.php so I am sorted. No idea why the codex method did not work, maybe just a matter of an update needed?

Ishimwe thank you for your help. I for one certainly appreciate the huge effort that goes into Buddypress.

    Hi guys,
Rather than start another mail on this topic I thought I should add my question to this thread.
I have experienced the same problem with both hotmail and gmail- nothing delivered to test profiles set up under both services.
Just wondered if anyone has cracked this problem yet as it may well effect many potential users of my site.I would appreciate a heads up if it’s been sorted.

Hi, I am experiencing exactly the same problem as the original poster Eric so to save opening up a new thread on the same topic I thought it better to post my question here.

My actions and resulting symptoms are exactly the same as Eric’s original post-I installed WP 3 then BuddyPress. I have updated BuddyPress
    I get the same error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1059

I have tried on the Mult-isite forum at WP but despite some useful advice I have still not got anywhere.

Here is the weird thing.Even when I disable BP I still get the same error.

It’s a problem because BP functions will not work so I can’t use BP at all.

I don’t know if Eric got an answer and as I am new to BP I am not sure I see a solution to this problem in the link r-a-y kindly provided.
really appreciate any suggestions you can offer.
