@mercime glad to know it’s not just me. How about disabling the default search box and inserting a google custom search widget?

Is it part of the general search or should I be able to search for members? It works for me but it may be a 1.6.1 feature this site doesn’t run?

I’m searching for topics relating to permalinks, but when I search this the URL changes from https://buddypress.org/search to https://buddypress.org/?s and then returns the blog page.

I think permitting users to delete their own accounts is an admin option.
