maybe via registerplus redux plugin? but I cant find out how to use groups as a selection

I’m trying to allow users to register to my site and automatically be registered to a predefined group that I created. for example, upon registration they are able to select from precreated groups, (grade 9, grade, 10, etc.) when they complete registration then that is the group that they are allowed to post to.
